Information for customer intending to open Bank Account with us

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advised banks to follow a ‘KYC guidelines’, wherein certain personal information of the account-opening prospect or the customer is obtained. The objective of doing so is to enable the Bank to have positive identification of its customers. This is also in the interest of customers to safeguard their hard earned money. The KYC guidelines of RBI mandate, bank to collect three proofs from their customers. They are

» Photograph
» Proof of identity
» Proof of address

According to which, a photograph and documentary proof of personal identification and address proof are required to be provided.

Our KYC procedure specifies certain commonly available documents as proof of personal identification and address proof, so as to not cause inconvenience to those intending to open bank accounts in our Bank.

The Account Opening Form provides the nature of documents required / procedure to be followed for opening a new account mentioned in section of Current Account / Saving Account.

Our Branch officials will also be able to provide guidance regarding the different types of documents acceptable for opening any new account.

Features verified and documents obtained from customers for Customer Identification Procedure

Accounts of Individuals. 
For Identification
(a) Passport
 (b) PAN card
 (c) Voters identity card
 (d) Driving License
 (e) Identity card (subject to the bank’s satisfaction.)
 ( f) Letter from a recognized public authority or public servant verifying the identity and residence of thecustomer to the satisfaction of the bank
Correct Permanent Address(a) Telephone Bill
 (b) Bank account statement
 (c) Letter from any recognized public authority
 (d) Electricity bill
 (e) Ration card
 (f) Letter from employer (subject to satisfaction of the bank)
  
(any one document which provides customer information to the satisfaction of the bank will suffice)
Accounts of Companies.
•Name of the company
(i) Certificate of incorporation and Memorandum & Articles of  Association.
•Principal place of business
(ii) Resolution of the Board of Directors to open an account and identification of       those who have authority to operate the account.
•Mailing address of the company
(iii) Power of Attorney granted to its managers, officers or employees to       transact business on its behalf
•Telephone/Fax number
(iv) Copy of PAN allotment letter
 
( v) Copy of the telephone bill.
•Legal name
(i) Registration certificate, if registered.
•Address
(ii) Partnership deed
•Names of all partners and their addresses
(iii) Power of Attorney granted to a partner or an employee of the firm to transact        business on its behalf
•Telephone numbers of the firm and partners
(iv) Any officially valid document identifying the partners and the persons        holding the Power of Attorney and their addresses.
 
( v) Telephone bill in the name of firm/partners.
Accounts of trusts & foundations.
•Names of trustees, settlers, beneficiaries and signatories
(i) Certificate of registration, if registered.
•Names and addresses of the founder, the managers/directors and the beneficiaries
(ii) Power of Attorney granted to transact business on its behalf
•Telephone/fax numbers
(iii) Any officially valid document to identify the trustees, settlers, beneficiaries and those holding Power of Attorney, founders/managers/directors and their addresses
 
(iv) Resolution of the managing body of the foundation/association
 
( v) Telephone Bill
